How to get your poetry/short story collections published

If you've ever wondered how to get your poetry/short story collections published, here are some hints I have found from publishers on that subject. Most publishers shy from such collections. Publishers shared helpful advice on this to me. Each poem or story needs to have been published individually in a literary magazine or other printed form. When submitting your collection to a publisher, you need to cite where and when each was published. If you are a well-known bard, you have a better chance of having your collection published.
